Naya kicks ass and fights next to Leif, real declarations of love are shared, the bond finally healed and accepted, she's initiated as a true Valkyrie and they get formally engaged. Of course, why talking when you can create drama? Sorry, my bad.Īfter this grating part, the book was quickly, very quickly wrapped up.
#Most badass nordic warriors full
Then we hit the, apparently, inevitable wall of mistrust, assumptions, reticence, half truth, Alpha's short moments of showdown (thank God Leif had just a few episodes), defiance, stupid choices.and of course both leads suffer terribly apart, while a good, old talk sharing feelings, fears, full information on the whole bonding thing, past wives and sick brothers would have easily prevented it. The cluelessness of the vikings who had to be helped by the heroine, the raging teen-like sexual tension, the heroine resisting every time but just about a few secs before giving in to her wants.I mean, the tropes, the tropes.I enjoyed myself brainlessly with Naya, king Leif and his viking warriors. It was so just over the top and so very little believable I could only go with it. I just couldn't take this seriously and I laughed quite a bit, especially during the first section of the book. Immortal vikings on Earth, defending us from Loki's minions and his evil plans + warrior spirits + mad scientist creations + enhanced cyberexpert female soldier + loose Nordic mythology + soulmates + reticence= this mess of a book.

Like most PNR series, there is a large group of characters who will each get their story and we met many of them. Although Naya is attracted to Leif, and is even willing to tap that, she isn't interested in a relationship with a guy who has ideas about women from before the middle ages. This starts our romance, but it is anything but insta-love. The king of the Vikings, Leif, is drugged and almost killed by some baddies, but our girl, Naya, saves his ass by killing them all and calling his buddies.
